Deb Ciamacca is running for Sheriff of Delaware County because she has spent her life serving her country and community and she wants to be sheriff who puts our community first.
As a Marine Corps Captain, I directly supervised 150 guards at the Camp Pendleton Correctional Facility, worked as the Legal Officer, managed the administrative staff – and was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for exceptional leadership.
I subsequently worked as a Manufacturing Manager for Raytheon, Unisys, and Neutronics, supervised hundreds of employees and managed budgets worth millions of dollars on both military and civilian projects such as the Patriot Missile and the Rebreathing Devices used by firefighters across the United States.
As a high school teacher, I taught Government and Economics and Criminal Justice during a 20-year career. I was also President of our 500-member union, negotiating contracts, working on human resource matters, and reorganizing the local union organization. I have a lifetime of leadership and management skills that I am ready to use on Day One as Sheriff of Delaware County.
I look forward to talking to you about my candidacy and to discussing the important role of Sheriff. It is my intention to do for the Sheriff’s office what Joanne Phillips did for the Controller’s office: look at every single aspect of the office and make it better, more efficient, and more able to handle the increasing demands of our growing county.
